You'll be a vital part of a team dedicated to delivering major asset assessment with further opportunities driven by sustainability and innovation. You will likely possess skills in corrosion engineering, fluid dynamics, modelling, technical reporting, already having worked locally in NDT, asset management. You will be ready to assume responsibility for technical reporting and timely project delivery with professionalism.

What you’ll do

Assess corrosion and deterioration of buried water and wastewater pipelines (cast iron, ductile iron, steel, concrete, AC).

  • Use QGIS and asset data to support condition segmentation and investigation planning
  • Interpret soil electrochemistry, laboratory testing and inspection data
  • Review pressure monitoring data, including operational and transient behaviour
  • Assess internal deterioration mechanisms such as lining degradation and septicity-related processes
  • Contribute to clear, concise technical reports for water service providers
  • Participate in field investigations where required

About you

  • Degree-qualified in Materials, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • 3+ years’ experience in corrosion engineering, pipeline condition assessment, asset integrity or related fields
  • Comfortable working with engineering datasets (e.g. pressure, soil analyses, geospatial inspection results)
  • Able to apply sound engineering judgement supported by data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience with water or wastewater assets is highly regarded
  • Working knowledge of AS/NZS pipe specifications and awareness of BCA/NCC would prove advantageous
  • QGIS experience desirable
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills desirable
  • Initiative and a passion to develop self and others desirable
