Building HAZMAT Technician / LAA
Are you a team player as much as solutions-focused and client-centric?
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced HBM Specialist to join our HSS department.
Your responsibilities would include:
- Asbestos hygiene works inclusive of assessments, monitoring, clearances, building HAZMAT inspections and register maintenance
- Control and Exposure monitoring
- Perform asbestos count and ID when needed on remote sites or in an emergency
- Maintaining and saving clear project and field notes; progress variations, project quoting for known clients
- Well written reports and receptive to evolving technologies enabling reporting from site
- Securing repeat and lucrative business through in-project Client care and offering innovative solutions
- Ensuring full communication with ADE Subject Matter Experts and engagement with Reviewer/Project Director for QA support
- Liaising with our HAZMAT SME, HSS Coordinator and Business Unit Manager for scheduling, Projects Reporting or Client support support
Skills and Experience (Criteria):
- Minimum 4 years' built environment HAZMAT projects and consultancy experience from quotes to project closure
- NSW LAA licence (required), ACT LAA (desirable)
- Asbestos MFM count and ID experience; ideally with PTA
- Proficiency in asbestos-impacted soil sampling for Waste Classification, if needed (desirable)
- Understanding of WHS, and prepared with ADE's Asbestos and Pb Awareness, work to the department's hygiene-related SOPs
- Competence in some Occupational Hygiene areas and completed Principles of Occupational Hygiene Course (desirable) to assist with occasional air quality, mould, noise & vibration monitoring and risk assessment (desirable)
- White card; WAH; EWP; Confined Space (preferred)
- Working with Vulnerable People / Children, ACT
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and other Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, with impeccable attention to detail
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment serving multiple clients
- Hold a current/valid and clean Australian driver's licence
- Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia (required)
